Abstracts submission (now closed)

After registering in the management portal (https://bsa.unibz.it/conftool/), it is possible to submit a contribution.

Please select the appropriate type of submission between:

  1. standard submission,
  2. graduate student competition,
  3. standard submission special call and
  4. graduate student competition special call.

Graduate students (PhD or M.Sc.) can apply for the student competition with original research papers. The competing student has to appear as the first author author and to be the presenting author at the conference. A presentation letter is required from the student supervisor, stating the student status and affiliation and has to be sent at bsa@unibz.it.

To accelerate the process and allow authors more time to finalize the full paper, acceptance will be communicated as soon as possible on a first in – first out basis, possibly even before the submission deadline. To this aim, please consider your abstract submission as definitive once it has been completed. We will not consider subsequent amendments or integrations.

Abstract length and structure

The abstract should preferably contain up to 1200 words and be structured according to the following scheme:

  • short introduction of the context, motivation and aim of the work,
  • applied approach and methods,
  • achieved results,
  • conclusions.

Official language is English. No other languages are allowed for abstracts and full papers.

Topics

The conference aims to give an overview of the most up-to-date applications of Building Simulation in the following fields:

  • Building physics: envelope and HVAC system modelling, design and operation optimization
  • Global performance and multi-domain simulation
  • Methodologies, regulation, calculation and simulation tools

In order to assist the review process and the creation of the conference program, please also select the topic(s) that best suit your submission among the provided list.

Proceedings Indexing

BSA2022 is a conference of the BSA Building Simulation Applications series. BSA2013, BSA2015, BSA2017 and BSA2019 proceedings are now indexed on Scopus.

Special call for papers: “Indoor air quality”

Contributions are welcome dealing with simulations of indoor air quality of buildings and its impact on building design and operation, including specific issues related to the pandemic and its consequences on everyday life. This includes the use of simulation in the analysis of:

  • Building envelope components and service equipment
  • Indoor environmental comfort and behavior of occupants
  • Novel requisites in special environments (schools, hospitals, offices, etc.)
  • Influence on occupants’ performances

Special issues

Selected papers will be invited to undergo a full review by a list of scientific journals, after being expanded and further developed. The journal and topics will be selected based on the quality of the submissions and their contents. The preliminary list of journals and special issues will be communicated after the acceptance of the abstract. The paper will be selected after the conference and authors invited to undergo the upgrade and review process.
Please consider that there is no guarantee of publication and that the journals retain any rights of deciding if the Special Issues will or will not be published.
