Initiatives for professionals

 

Dynamic simulation techniques are gaining more and more importance in building design. Aware of this challenge, in the framework of the BSA2017 conference on buildings simulation applications, different initiatives are offered to professionals and designers.

 

BSA2017 IBPSA Italy Workshop for Designers and Practitioners

The 1st IBPSA Italy Workshop for Designers and Practitioners will be held on February 10th, with the aim to promote the exchange and cooperation between people working in the field of dynamic simulation or simply among people interested in acquiring new knowledge in this field.

BSA2017 IBPSA Italy Project Award

In the framework of the BSA2017 conference on buildings simulation applications, the “BSA 2017 IBPSA Italy Award for Building Simulation‐Aided Project”, hereinafter BSA2017 IBPSA Italy Project Award, has been established.
The Project Award is dedicated to those projects that, through advanced simulation techniques and/or software, have been able to predict and optimize the energy and comfort performance of designed buildings. The general Award criteria are:

  • Achievement of energy and comfort building performances that could not have been estimated and met without the use of building simulation in the design process.
  • Enhancement and enabling of sustainable (aka “green”) design goals by means of the adoption of simulation tools in the design process.
  • Integration and use of more simulation tools in the design process, development of specific simulation tools or innovative application of existing ones.
  • Well‐documented benefits addressing project costs, schedule, and/or resulting quality.
